18 Dec A Very Merry, Different, Christmas

Christmas 2020. This year Christmas will look very different for most of us, yet its meaning will always be the same! Christmastime is still a time of celebration, being thankful, and spreading joy to those around us. Yet this year, more than any other year, we need to be more intentional about doing this.

All the parties, trips, programs, dinners, and past traditions that are cancelled are hugely disappointing, but we can still connect with those we would have seen. Write a heartfelt letter, connect virtually, or spend some time on the phone sharing memories.

Get in the Christmas spirit by baking or cooking. Nothing is stopping us from making our traditional holiday favorites in the kitchen. It just might have to be adjusted for a smaller group. Pop on your favorite Christmas movie. There are so many to choose from. Play some Christmas music, or read a good Christmas devotional. Then bundle up and take a walk to see the beautiful lights in your neighborhood. The exercise and fresh air will lift your spirits.

There is nothing worse than being sick over the holidays! So, make every effort to stay healthy. You have heard it a million times, wash your hands, social distance, and wear your mask. If you do, we can all enjoy the season and have a very merry Christmas!
